The company was established in October 14th 2002 and has since that developed to be one of the major suppliers of hydro equipment in Scandinavia. Since 2006 is the company also a part of Voith Hydro which is one of Europe's largest family owned companies with more than 4000 employees active in hydro power.

Fortum to refurbish Skedvi HPP

VG Power has been awarded a major contract from Fortum to refurbish Skedvi HPP in Dalälven River, Sweden. The investment is part of Fortum´s long-term hydropower investment programme and also one of the biggest investments this year in their Swedish hydropower. The aim is to improve the production, efficiency and safety of hydropower plants through an annual investment of EUR 80-100 million. Read more

VG Power launch a new company for service and retrofit for turbo generators

VG Power Turbo AB is the name of the new company, focusing in service and retrofit of turbo generators, for new and existing customers. The company is located in the same office as VG Power, in Kopparlunden in Västerås, Sweden, and is in full operation since March 2011.

VG Power has opened new office in Kristinehamn

Effective from beginning of April 2011 has VG Power opened a new office in Kristinehamn with turbine experts available for the Swedish market. We are already working with several projects in Sweden together with our partners from Voith Hydro, one example is the ongoing installation of the first new Kaplan unit in Akkats. Read more

Modernization of power supply to railway system

VG Power has together with Trafikverket (previous Banverket), Jernbaneverket and Luleå Generatorservice worked together during several years with improvements in the design of the old rotating converters that supplies the railway power grid with 16.67 Hz electricity. Read more
